Acme Bowling, Billiards and Events at 100 Andover Park W in Tukwila (opened November 11, 2005) is just full of surprises.

The biggest surprise was the food at the restaurant. Many entertainment businesses that serve food seem to do so under duress. The food is often boring, meager and, sometimes, barely edible. Not so the restaurant at Acme. Generous portions of absolutely delicious items made from “scratch” clearly indicate that Acme places a high priority on the food as well as the fun.

If you’ve got a case of Spring Fever, the 23rd Annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is a great antidote. Absolutely brimming over with fresh air, colorful flowers and, if you’re lucky, good weather, this is a great way to chase the winter cobwebs out of your head.

The schedule of events is (just about) endless and includes hay rides, wine tasting, quilt viewings, live concerts (everything from Celtic music, country, blues, jazz, classics—you name it, it’s there), basketball tournaments, art displays, a salmon barbeque, and kite flying, just to name a few.

We all find it hard to plan for the long term, yet women face some unique challenges when it comes to planning for the future. Everyone needs to address the reality of living longer – and spending more years in retirement – but females tend to live even longer than their male counterparts. On top of that, there are valid reasons why some women may not be in a position to properly prepare for their financial future.
