Jump In; The Water's Fun! |
 |
One of the highlights of our family’s fun last summer was a
session spent at the Henry Moses Aquatic Center. The Center is
located in the northeast corner of Cedar River Park at 1719 Maple
Valley Highway in Renton. It offers affordable, water fun and
relaxation.
The Center’s primary water features are two-26 feet high orange
and blue water slides, a 9,000-square- foot leisure pool and a
3,300-square-foot six-lane lap pool. The largest tube slide is
245' long!

Growing Where You're Planted |
 |
That is just what Greg King, Realtor, has done. Greg's family
has been involved in community life on San Juan Island for over
six generations. In fact, the permanent home for the San Juan
Historical Museum is located in the 75-year-old homestead of James
King.
It is within this tradition of community and service that Greg
King now participates in the continuing development of island
lifestyle and culture.

Look Who's Gone Online! |
 |
Two organizations recently have moved their communications
online. The SW King County Chamber of Commerce now provides
members with weekly calendar updates via email and provides its
monthly newsletter, "Business Advocate", to members and the public
via email and online while Doubletree Guest Suites Seattle
Airport/Southcenter uses email to send special offers and seasonal
opportunities to past guests and the public via it's newsletter,
"Cookie Bites".

The Myths About Long Term Care |
 |
It seems that we are hearing more and more about long-term
care. The cost for long-term care services is rising, new types of
home care services are becoming available, and the largest
generation of retirees in American history is about to enter their
elder years. Even with all of this attention, however, many
consumers still have mistaken assumptions about the best way to
plan and pay for long-term care.

Danish Bakery - Old Burien
|
|
|
|
I am one-quarter Danish by adoption. My step- father adopted me
when I was fourteen years old and I think the love of Danish foods
came with the legal name change. This made my family’s discovery
of the gem of Old Burien, the Danish Bakery-Burien, a delight!
When I am home from college, my sisters and I urge our parents
to take us to the shop on 152nd Street to get our favorite baked
goods from a store with more heritage than most.
The bakery offers a variety of homemade breads that are crusty
on the outside and soft in the middle, just as bread should be.
They offer Danish pastries such as savory cinnamon butter horns
and buttery Kringles and sweet almond Tosca's, chocolate oyster
cookies, and our personal favorite, Florentine's, which are
honeyed waffle crisps filled with creamy icing.
