Being an intern for about 8 months at CeSI has been a great opportunity for me. I have met so many amazing people and they have taught me about businesses, computers and just life. When I first was hired the people that worked there welcomed me with open arms and accepted me into the business. My boss, Elizabeth, took me under her wing and taught me a lot about businesses. These are just a few things I have learned.

  1. To be patient with clients because sometimes they can be frustrating.
  2. Some clients want their website to be perfect and exactly what they want, which can be hard to do sometimes.
  3. You are not alone. When you get stuck you have co-workers around you that can help you at any time.
  4. Getting mad also does not help you, you have to remain calm and think things through before you go back to work.

Not only have I learned about how businesses work, I have learned about businesses that I had never heard about before. One example is the Soggy Doggy. Soggy Doggy is a place where you can get your dog washed and buy products for your dog. I knew that there were places like the Soggy Doggy out there, I just never paid attention to them. Now that I know about the Soggy Doggy, every time I see it when I am out and about I can say “Hey look that is one of the clients of the business I work for.” Also if my family wants to do something fun I have more ideas because I know about a lot of businesses like Wiggle Works where we can take the little kids to play and hang out. Also Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad and Museum Scenic Train Rides seems like a fun place to learn about the history of trains and go for a fun ride. So now I have knowledge of some of the businesses around the area I live in and in other areas.

Working for CeSI also has helped me see a new perspective about businesses. Usually in a normal business you work in an office in that company’s building. But CeSI is a unique business because their “office” is in the owner’s home. It was weird at first but I felt comfortable here because the “office” had a home feeling to it and usually when you are home you feel this house warmth and loving feeling.

Working for CeSI has been a huge opportunity for me. This opportunity has given me knowledge and a new perspective on business. I look forward to the future ahead for CeSI and me.
