My Favorite Local Mexican Restaurants
I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD. If you do too, I hope this little mix of reviews of a few of my favorite local Mexican eateries will help you find a couple places to try out, maybe some new favorites. Here in Seattle we have a great selection of Mexican restaurants ranging from authentic to Tex-Mex or Americanized. So, whatever your taste in Mexican food, whether adventurous or mild, there should be something for you here.
First off, let me tell you about my personal favorite, Azteca. This is a sit-down Mexican restaurant with the best refried beans and tortilla soup I’ve ever had. I’ve never had something there that I didn’t like and I’ve been eating there my entire life. The service is always fast and friendly. Azteca is a local chain with locations primarily in Washington State in the Puget Sound area. I recently discovered they have another location in Oregon and 5 locations in Florida that are a branch of the Azteca Company. I highly suggest going to Azteca if you’ve never been before.
Another sit-down Mexican restaurant I love is Torero’s. They have 4 locations in the Puget Sound area. They are comparable to Azteca, but the reason they’re worth trying out as well is because they make their own handmade flour tortillas in house. Fresh. DAILY. When they bake them you can watch them as they move along a lift and carrier belt as they puff up and then deflate. The staff is always friendly and gives great service. Their food is great!
Now let’s talk about my favorite fast food, drive-thru type of Mexican restaurant; California Burrito Kitchen. Best guacamole on the planet. Hands down. They puree it or something, which I absolutely love because I don’t like chunky guacamole as much. They have spectacular bean and cheese burritos. They’re big and not too pricey. My husband usually gets 2; 1 for dinner and 1 for lunch the next day. I also love their taquitos, nachos and carne asada fries. (You definitely want to try those.) The next thing I’m looking to try there is their breakfast burritos. I’ve typically eaten there for lunch and dinner, but I’ve heard only good things about their breakfast burritos.
Last, but not least, is another great casual eatery; Taqueria El Riconsito. They have locations all over Washington State. They have fantastic food for great prices. Some locations have a drive-thru option, but all locations have seating available inside. They are always fast. They are friendly and they are a favorite for many people in the area. They’re especially great when you want something quick other than a burger joint or other fast food restaurants. You can get authentic Mexican food here quickly and for a good price!
I hope this run down of my favorite local Mexican restaurants helps you pick out where to go next! We’d love to hear what you think about these eateries or what other favorites you may have, so let us know in the comments below!
